Apr 06, Colombo: The National Freedom Front (NFF), a collation partner of Sri Lanka's governing United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) led by Minister Wimal Weerawansa, has called on the government to explain the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution on Sri Lanka to the people.

NFF Secretary, Piyasiri Wijenayake said the government needed to explain the UNHRC resolution and its impact on the country without delay.

He has observed that a progress on the resolution is to be handed to the UNHRC at the 22nd session next year.

"It would not be correct for the government to make public statements about the issues the country would have to face before the UNHRC sessions a few months before the 22nd session," he has explained.

According to Wijenayake, the people have the right to know the truth from the government.
